Ed Layton - Director
Ed is a Chartered Building Surveyor specialising in Dilapidations and Party Wall Matters.
Having spent over 15 years working for a major UK consultant, Ed set up Thames Valley Surveying in 2013 realising an ambition to create a local practice of property and construction consultants with capacity to offer a nationwide service.
When Ed isn’t working he can usually be found doing a park run, or out in his 1970’s Triumph Spitfire.
John Wren - Director
John is a Chartered building surveyor specialising in defects diagnosis, design and project management.
John spent over 10 years working as a building surveyor before joining Thames Valley Surveying in 2014.
When not in the office John spends as much of his life as possible outside walking the dog or trying to finish off the latest DIY project!
Oliver Wilson - Director
Oliver is a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 10 years’ experience.
Oliver specialises in the Project Management of refurbishments and new build commercial properties along with providing dilapidations advice and due diligence surveys to both landlords and tenants.
Outside of work Oliver has a young family who takes up most of any spare time available
Ling Lee - Architect
Ling is a qualified architect with experience working on projects across all stages from initial design, planning, tendering to construction.
When Ling is not in the office, she enjoys sketching and crocheting.
Frank Alderman - Building Surveyor
Frank is currently studying part time towards a degree in Building Surveying at Northumbria University. Prior to joining TVS he gained considerable experience in the construction industry working for a specialist building conservation contractor, after completing his first degree in Politics.
When Frank isn’t working (or studying!) he enjoys spending time playing football, rugby and cricket and is currently working towards his ECB coaching certificates.
Jacqueline Catherall - CAD Technician and Office Administrator
Jac supports the team as our CAD Technician, office administrator and book keeper.
Between this, and looking after her family she dreams of moving to the country and starting a flock of rare breed sheep!
Marina Szabady - Associate
Marina is a Chartered Building Surveyor who has worked for several surveying practices and has a wealth of experience, especially with regard to residential property.
When Marina isn’t at work she is usually away camping with her family, or in the gym!
Caroline Ward - Associate
Caroline is a Chartered Building surveyor and has been working in the Thames Valley for over twenty years.
Caroline’s main focus is on design, contract administration and project management but also carries out defects diagnosis inspections.
Outside of work Caroline enjoys gardening and yoga.
Paul Ansell - Consultant Architectural Designer
Paul is an experienced Architectural Designer who works with us to deliver projects.
His specialty is the design of buildings in the education sector.
